Event Photography Sytems

About half of my income comes from shooting events, either on my own through www.actionphotography.co.uk or working other photographers. (shooting and printing on the day)

Over the last few weeks I’ve been working for www.mysportspix.net and we have been trialing version 2.1.26 of www.eventphotosytems.com event software. I have to say at first I was less than impressed with both the software and the the need to have multiple laptops out on display, but at the end of the first day I changed my mind, while I still feel there is room for improvement, particularly with the customer screen display, the software does work well and we have now had three successful events under our hats.

Looking forward to seeing version 3.

Regards

Alan.

I get quite a few emails and phone calls from people asking how to get started in this

wonderful world of sports photography, I am always willing to try and help whenever I can.

This week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Matt Perrin who contacted me a month ago and wanted some advise, we had a great day out on the Quinton Rally, really threw him in at the deep end and I have to say he coped pretty well!

Matt is new not just to sport but to photography in general, so there is a bit of a mountain to climb, but I hope he’ll be back for more very soon.

British Moto-X GP

It’s been a few years since I’d photographed Moto-X, so when I found out the British GP was going to be on my doorstep, well less than an hour away, at Mallory Park, I just had to go along and polish up on my motorsport shooting skills!!as070404_asblg2

The last time I’d covered Moto-X was at Hawkstone Park, back in the late 90’s, happy memories for me when one of my shots of a certain Rob Herring won me the open section of the Kodachrome Challenge, imagine my surprise when arriving on the Sunday, that Rob was competing in the vets race!

One of the great things about Moto-X is the dust, stones and mud thrown up by the bikes, aways good to capture this if you can, but make sure you don’t get hit!

Couldn’t go wrong with the weather on my side and plenty of places to shoot from a superb way to start the summer.

cheers
